Try Virtual Family kingdom :) It's kind of boring at first, but soon you'll get into it. You don't have to buy or download anything, so it's very safe. You can chat to people, using a safe dictionary (For example, you can basically say anything if you try hard enough, like if you can't say kiss you can say Kay I See See *capitals*). You buy clothes & furniture, you have your own house, AND you can even become a faerie & wolf! It's very fun for 10+ year olds :)
