How do you get to sector y in star fox 64

When Falco says "I'll get this one, take the one behind me, somethings wrong with the G-Diffuser" you must save him. Then, a little bit later you'll see arches, fly through all of them, you'll then play through the level and once you win, you'll go to Sector Y.
