How do you become a jediknight on knights of the old republic

You have to leave taris, you will then go to dantooine where there is a jedi enclave after some talking and tasks the will grant you the title of padawan the lowest rank of the jedi order (this is kinda funny given knowledge of the later game) but i dont want to givew away any spoilers.
