How do you get paintings on Animal Crossing

if i remember correctly, u go 2 the tent when red rover comes. there u can buy paintings but they're usually expensive. ALL OF REDDS PAINTINGS ARE FAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not necessary- I once bought a painting off Redd and is hanging in the gallery now
