Do video games affect your eyesight

Constant play of video games can affect your eyesight if you don't take the necessary precautions. Take breaks of 30 minutes between every 3 hours of gameplay. Do not sit close to the TV as the bright light can affect your eyesight.

Actually, it IS the light generated by the screen that affects your eyesight. I wear corrective lenses, and the eye doctor recommends an exam/update EVERY year if I work at a computer screen, every TWO years if I don't. The screen IS a light-source, so it is like looking directly at a lightbulb for exteneded periods of time.
