In chocobo tales for DS how do you get past the stage where you are at the top of MT. Magma and find a different picture book with a bit where you have to draw leaves and bounce higher than jailbird

You have to get to the top before the jailbirds do, and make it to about level 4. After that, you should be able to get past it.
