What is the Origin of the Assassins Creed logo

There is no official meaning or origin behind the Assassin's Creed logo as found on the internet, however someone managed to make the Assassin's Creed logo out of a pretzel.


I honestly think there is a major resemblence to the (PFC) rank icon in the military FYI PFC is private first class


Edit: The Assassin's symbol is a bit of an irony, as it's design was based on the logo of various freemasonry's. Ironic how, you ask? The real life Templars are considered a freemasonry.
