How do you get a magnemite in Pokemon emerald

In order to get a Magnemite in Generation III (Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald), you must go to a place called New Mauville. It is a cave in the middle of the lake in Route 110. You are only able to enter New Mauville after you defeat Gym Leader Norman in Petalburg City.
